Volunteers Gather for Community Cleanup in the Bronx

A group of volunteers gathered in Fordham Heights in the Bronx, New York, on June 2 to help clean up the community after a night of civil unrest and looting.

Violence, looting, and fires were reported at several locations in the Bronx on Monday night.

“Today, the community at Fordham beautifully came together to clean up,” Sumaiya Papito wrote on Twitter. “People were handing out gloves, water, brooms, and cleaning up finished within the first 3 hours! This is the positivity that people should see. Let’s keep up the momentum to let the officials/government know!” Credit: Sumaiya Papito via Storyful
