Voters Confused By Parties' Warning Messages

It's been dubbed 'The Most Unpredictable Election In A Generation' but #GE2015 could also be called 'The Most Complicated Election Ever'.

How many times have we heard the words: "If you vote for X, you get Y"?

It is not unusual for these tactics to be used by political parties during general elections, but with the rise of UKIP, the SNP and the Green Party, this election is full of contradictory messages.

Vote SNP, get the Tories, say Labour in Scotland. Vote SNP, get Labour, say the Tories.

In some parts of the country, Labour leaflets tell people if they vote Liberal Democrat they will get the Tories.

In other areas, UKIP supporters say vote Tories, get Labour. And so it goes on.

:: Sky News' Stand Up Be Counted campaign

In our handy cut-out-and-keep chart, Sky News has attempted to simplify the situation and put all of the parties' messages into one place.

The picture is most complicated in Scotland, where people in a shopping centre in Edinburgh told Sky News they are being put off voting.

"If your heart is set on one party, then fine," one person said.

"But if you want to tactically vote, then it's very difficult."

Another said: "It puts me off a bit, because it's like one person saying one thing and somebody else saying something else.

"It's very confusing."
