Police are hunting a driver who ploughed into an electricity box leaving it 'sparking' - before fleeing the scene. Officers and firefighters were called to Anchor Road, in Adderley Green, with the route left blocked off.

Now Staffordshire Police have confirmed the driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan found at the scene didn't stick around. Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 9.50pm on Tuesday evening (November 12).

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to Anchor Road following reports of a vehicle in collision with road furniture. The vehicle impacted an electric box that was sparking. The driver of the vehicle did not stay at the scene.
