Waccamaw River Sets Flooding Record in Conway

Emergency crews rescued people from flooded neighborhoods in Conway, South Carolina, on Saturday, September 22, as the Waccamaw River set a flood record and kept rising.

The river is expected to crest on Tuesday at 22 feet – more than four feet higher than the record set by Hurricane Matthew’s flood waters in 2016. On Sunday morning, the river was just below 20 feet.
