MAFS UK's Adam just responded to Amy dating rumours
After they shared a series of cosy photos on Instagram, many Married at First Sight UK fans started theorising that cast members Amy and Adam were now dating following the breakdown of their separate marriages. Now, both Amy and Adam have spoken out to set the record straight, and their answers might surprise you.
Last month (12th November) Amy hosted a viewing party for the final vow ceremony, which (spoiler!) saw her end her relationship with husband Luke. The party was attended by a number of her fellow MAFS UK cast members, including Holly, Alex and Adam, who also featured in the final vow episode which saw his relationship with wife Polly end.
Following the party Amy shared a selection of images from the party on her Instagram, and in one of the images she and Adam are seen with their arms around each other, and in another picture Amy is seen jokingly proposing to Adam.
Since she shared those photos the comment section has been flooded with fans of the show asking if the pair are together. "Subtle hint that you and Adam are together?" one person commented, while another wrote: "Are you and Adam dating👀."
Then, on the 21st November, Amy responded to those comments, denying she and Adam are together. During a Q+A session on her Instagram Story, Amy was asked by one follower if she was dating the groom.
She replied: "Apparently I’m dating Adam, Nathan, heard I’m dating Kieran too last night? Wish I had that much spare time on my hands 😂. I am single and not dating any of the cast 🙏😂. I came out of the experiment with the most gorgeous friends and I am forever grateful to have these beautiful girls in my life."
Then, at the end of November, Adam then took to Instagram to respond to the rumours, shutting down any suggestion of romance. Talking to a BBC Derbyshire journalist, he said, "Me and Amy, she’s like the female version of me. We’re so alike. We both said to each other, yeah we find each other attractive. But, our friendship’s that good we’d never want to spoil that.
"I think me and Amy will be staying friends for, I’d like to think, the rest of my life. She’s someone that I do trust. I feel like I can tell her anything. There’s nothing romantic going on with me and Amy. We’re like best friends."
During Amy and Adam's time on the show they both struggled in their respective marriages, and were seen growing close on screen following one week's challenge in which they moved in together.
Amy was in a marriage with Luke, and while they started off on a good note, their relationship went on a downhill trajectory they couldn't quite recover from after Amy felt Luke had been dishonest with her over various parts of his past which led to feel she couldn't trust him.
They did make it the whole way through the experiment, but at the final vow ceremony Amy turned up in a black dress to mourn the end of the relationship, and told Luke she didn't want to continue with their relationship moving forward.
Adam meanwhile, was paired with Polly, but their marriage didn't have the greatest of starts, with Adam confessing he wasn't attracted to Polly. They struggled to grow their intimacy and Polly felt continually frustrated with Adam's lack of compliments and PDA. Adam thought he was providing this to Polly and became frustrated when he felt she was constantly asking for more from him. Their relationship was pretty volatile and they were frequently seen arguing at cast dinner parties.
They did however make it to final vows, which ended with Adam storming off and the pair ending their marriage for good.
Amy and Adam grew close as friends during the experiment when they were paired together for partner swap week. The episodes saw Amy move into Polly and Adam's apartment while Polly moved in with Nathan, and Luke with Lacey.
The pair shared a bed and Amy helped Adam go lingerie shopping for Polly in order to help increase the couple's intimacy. Following on from this Amy was later seen offering both Adam and Polly advice on their relationship throughout the rest of the experiment.
And while both their marriages may have ended it's nice to see they were all able to build strong friendships from their experiences together.
