She lost her waitressing job, and now the Air Force is booting a Missouri waitress who joked with friends about going “n****r hunting” in a viral video.
Twenty-year-old aspiring model Tabitha “Tabbie” Duncan had recently enlisted as a reserve airman, but her newfound notoriety has ended all that, according to the Air Force Times.
In an email to the Riverfront Times, Lt. Col. Chad Gibson of the Air Force Reserve Command described the video as “intolerable.” Without specifically naming Duncan, Gibson said the service was in the process of releasing her.
Duncan was recorded on Snapchat as she and her friends rode in the back of a truck, dropping n-bombs.
The person filming says, “So we going n****r hunting today or what?”
Then a man in a baseball hat says, “We’re going n****r hunting.”
The person filming says, “We’re f***ing n****r hunting right now, uh?”
And then Duncan chimes in: “You get them n****s.”
The shocking video was shared on Facebook on June 10 by someone who saw it on Snapchat, and it started making the rounds quickly. Duncan was fired by the Social Bar and Grill, a Hooters-like “breastaurant,” on June 11, the bar said in a Facebook post.
The wanna-be model apologized when speaking with the New York Daily News, blaming her racist comments on drinking.
“I was intoxicated,” she said. “I have black friends, I have black people in my family, I didn’t mean it. I didn’t know that I was being [recorded].”
The full recording, below, contains language that may be upsetting.
