Although there's still a few months to go until Easter, supermarkets are already bringing us delicious Easter treats, from Terry's Chocolate Orange Mini Eggs to Aero Peppermint Mini Eggs.

Now, Waitrose & Partners has revealed it's teamed up with celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal to launch some epic Easter eggs playing on the art of illusion for 2020.

Don't worry if you spot a Lemon boxed up alongside the rest of the supermarket's offering this year, you're not seeing things.

Heston has designed a £3 chocolate egg that pretty much looks exactly like the real thing. Puckered like a lemon and complete with a green leaf, it looks like it could have been plucked from a tree but is actually a white chocolate Easter egg infused with zesty lemon for a citrusy kick.

As well as the fruit look-a-like, Heston has created Eggstraordinary Chocolate Hen's Eggs. The white chocolate eggs look ready to boil but inside is a two-tone banoffee centre with layers of banana purée ganache and dark chocolate caramel ganache. A box of four eggs costs £6.

This year also sees the return of the popular avocado Easter eggs in a mini trio that costs £5. The sweet treat has been a sell-out in recent years, so we can only imagine this selection of baby avos will be a hit again this year.

Housed in a dark or milk chocolate shell, the eggs are filled with a creamy ganache in raspberry, passion fruit and milk chocolate flavours, all with a chocolate 'stone'.

Speaking about this year's eggs, Confectionery Product Developer for Waitrose & Partners, Kate Kind said: "This Easter we’re offering shoppers our most playful and colourful creations to date. In this year's collection, we’ve focused on the art of illusion - a play on the unexpected, and the trend for fruity confectionery."

We can't wait to try out the range!
