A grandma pulled packets of cocaine from her pants and threw them away while she was getting arrested.
Caroline Cochrane was being detained for breaching the peace when she retrieved the class A drugs from her knickers and tried to get rid of them, a court heard. The 49-year-old's actions were in full view of officers and the packets were retrieved and found to be cocaine.
Cochrane, of Welbeck Road, in Walker, had been due before Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Wednesday this week but failed to show and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Less than 24 hours later, she'd been detained and appeared in the dock in custody to plead guilty to possession of a class A drug.

Claire Armstrong, prosecuting, said police were called to reports of an assault on Cochrane on October 29 this year and, upon arrival, found her to be in a "heightened state". Miss Armstrong continued: "She was arrested for breach of the peace.
"When officers put handcuffs on her, they noticed she tensed up one hand and put her hand down her pants and pulled out several packets of white powder and threw them across the road."
The court heard that Cochrane had numerous offences on her record, including two for drug possession. Peter Farrier, defending, said the cocaine was for her own personal use.
Mr Farrier added: "She's a single grandmother. She's in receipt of benefits. She didn't receive much guidance in her younger life." Mr Farrier continued: "When asked why she takes cocaine, she says 'well, everyone has got their poison.'"
Cochrane was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £48 victim surcharge.
