The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 confirms release window
The Walking Dead: Dead City has landed its release window for the second season, with fans not having to wait too long.
The AMC series, a spin-off from The Walking Dead, follows Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, which is filled with the living dead.
With the first season airing back in the summer of 2023, fans have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up, and they now have some concrete news on a release date as it has been confirmed at New York Comic Con (via Variety) that the second season will air in spring 2025.

“In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides,” reads the logline. “As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.”
Whilst the second season of Dead City is still a few months away, fans can look forward to several new additions in the cast, with Dascha Polanco, Jake Weary, Keir Gilchrist and Pooya Mohseni all appearing in some capacity.
Such was the popularity of the spin-off, a follow-up instalment was officially greenlit ahead of the finale for the first season, with AMC’s Dan McDermott saying: “This next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to thrive with a terrific inaugural season for Dead City.

“We can't wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicentre of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan,” he added, with the renewal coinciding with the announcement of fellow spin-off show Daryl Dixon.
Though Dead City is due to return in the early part of next year, it's currently unknown if this includes UK audiences, with the first season premiering on these shores over a year after its original release in the US.
The Walking Dead aired on AMC in the US and STAR on Disney+ in the UK.
