Chandler Riggs has shared a preview of his latest role in A Million Little Things, one year after his Walking Dead character Carl Grimes was shockingly killed off.

Riggs will star as PJ in the ABC family drama, alongside David Giuntoli, Romany Malco, Allison Miller, and Grace Park.

"comin back to the small screen next week on @millionlittlethingsabc!!! be sure to watch next thursday on abc," Riggs wrote on Instagram.

The upcoming episode, entitled 'The Rosary', is set to air on Thursday, February 21.

Chandler announced his part in A Million Little Things last month, writing on Twitter: "Four days ago, I was almost unemployed for a full year.

"Right now, I'm sitting on the set of season one of an incredible TV show for my first day of work.

"Life changes really drastically really quickly."

Carl was written out midway through the eighth season of TWD, saying his goodbyes after being bitten by a zombie.

Riggs recently admitted that it "sucked" to leave, but was "happy" with how his exit turned out.

Earlier this month, Riggs' father William said that his son deserved "better treatment" from The Walking Dead bosses.

"Scott Gimple was the only one there and he told us that Carl would be gone in a few episodes. Chandler was absolutely devastated. I was disappointed Scott had been dishonest with a 17-year-old making life decisions and waited to tell us," he wrote.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK. You can also catch up on the show via NOW TV.
