Get Out writer/director Jordan Peele has reeled in a zombie killer for his new reboot of The Twilight Zone.

It's been announced by Entertainment Weekly that The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun will star in an episode of the sci-fi anthology series, titled 'The Traveler'.

Oscar winner Peele is building an impressive cast sheet for the revival series, with Parks and Recreation star Adam Scott onboard, Kumail Nanjiana (Silicon Valley), John Cho (Star Trek), Jacob Tremblay (Room) and Fargo's Allison Tolman all also signed up.

Set to premiere next year, The Twilight Zone is going to rehash the classic 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet' episode too, which featured William Shatner as an aeroplane passenger who discovers a horrific creature skulking outside the aircraft.

Meanwhile, actor Yeun has previously acknowledged his gnarly Walking Dead exit, which saw his character Glenn bludgeoned to death by baseball bat maniac Negan.

"Maybe we did it too far," he admitted. "It was pretty bad, but we did it and people remember it, so it's cool. I think it was a lot of things. People think it was the gore. It was gory, but it wasn't any more gory than anything that we've shown before.

"I think what it was was just watching someone that you feel like you know getting killed that way and getting killed in a way that was not like, 'Oh man, look at Noah getting ripped up', which is gnarly, but it was just happening to him, whereas in this instance it was just like, 'You could've stopped but you're just going to keep going and you're going to rub it in'."

He continued: "That's great that Glenn can have that type of place to affect people like that. I mean – sorry, but mission accomplished."

The Twilight Zone will air on CBS All Access in 2019, whilst The Walking Dead plays on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK.
