Andrew Lincoln has continued to tease us about that Old Man Rick twist in The Walking Dead season eight.
Back in July, creator Robert Kirkman revealed that we would know what that trailer shot was about "in the first episode", before showrunner Scott Gimple said that we wouldn't get any "definitive answer" in the premiere after all.
And all Lincoln will say is that he was "shocked and kind of excited by it" in a new interview with EW.
"My instinct was, what a great storytelling device. That was my instinct. I thought it was very interesting, and also gives us an opportunity to do something else a little ahead of the game, which I think is very, very neat," he explained.
We've had our thoughts on what Old Man Rick could mean in relation to the comics, but Lincoln isn't confirming that it's exactly the same time jump, except for admitting one thing about it.
"I mean, it's a grey Rick. It's an older Rick. So by virtue of the fact that you see, that means that it's in the future," he added.
"It will become somewhat clearer after the October premiere. Then again, it may not be. It maybe still is somewhat opaque. I think that that's possibly all I can say on the matter."
Clear as mud.
The Walking Dead returns on October 22 on AMC in the US and October 23 on FOX in the UK.
