Yahoo News Walking Dead trailer may have teased this comics twist
The return of The Walking Dead is a few months away, but for now we have the season eight first-look trailer to dissect and obsess over.
We've already talked about Old Man Rick – the twist at the end of the trailer – and what it means for the season.
But there's another moment that fans have spotted, and if the show continues to follow the events of the comics source material, we could be getting a big comics moment early on in season eight.
Spoilers are below, for those who don't want to know more.
This moment is about Shiva the tiger.

So the trailer showed Shiva being surrounded by walkers before moving to pounce on one of them:
There is a similar scene in the comics.
As part of Rick's plan to defeat the Saviors, Rick's army is split up into smaller groups to deal with various Savior outposts in the area.
Ezekiel – with Shiva and others by his side – moves to take down one such outpost, but the group find themselves ambushed by the Saviors there and suffer a number of casualties. However, both sides are surprised by a group of walkers. Ezekiel's group are forced to flee and scatter in all directions.
Ezekiel, alone, is then surrounded by walkers. It doesn't look good for him, until Shiva comes out of nowhere and helps, ultimately sacrificing her life so that Ezekiel can escape.
The Kingdom leader is heartbroken over this loss.
It seems likely the TV show will replicate these events, as it would provide Ezekiel with an arc this season, as he comes to grips with being a leader during a war.
And given that the trailer shows scenes from the first few episodes of the season, Shiva doesn't seem long for this world...
The Walking Dead launches its eighth season on October 22 on AMC in the US. It will air on FOX in the UK.
