The Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan has sparked renewed speculation over a possible season 10 return as Maggie after reuniting with some of her (former?) co-stars.

Cohan left early during season 9 to star in new ABC series Whiskey Cavalier but the door was left open, with her character written out off-screen.

She made an appearance at HollyCon in Tokyo, Japan (via ComicBook.com), and the Walking Dead Twitter account shared a picture of her with fellow stars Khary Payton (who plays King Ezekiel) and Cooper Andrews (Jerry) as well as Ryan Hurst, who first appeared as villain Beta after Cohan exited.

Cohan's appearance isn't indicative of anything, as former stars over the years appear at Walking Dead conventions all the time. Just last month, Steven Yeun was present at Walker Stalker Con in London and discussed having no intention of reprising his role as Glenn, even for flashbacks.

But many fans on Twitter have taken Cohan's HollyCon presence as a sign that she's readying up a return to the AMC series. Here are some of the reactions:

Cohan has been asked on multiple occasions recently about possibly returning for season 10.

Earlier this month, she said that there were "definitely a lot of exciting ways" for her to make a comeback, while in March, she said she was "not done" with the show.

The season 9 finale set up a possible return storyline for the popular character, as Yumiko told Michonne that Hilltop have tried reaching out to her in the aftermath of the shocking pikes scene.

The last we heard about Maggie, she was revealed to have joined Georgie in helping another community away from Hilltop during the time jump.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK. You can also catch up on the show via NOW TV.
