A man in Cornwall had a rare encounter with a wallaby as he drove home from work in the early hours of September 28 in the small town of St Blazey.
Paul Bowden captured footage of the marsupial skipping along, before posting it on a local community Facebook page.
Recounting the event to Storyful, Bowden said, “In the distance was a big object that suddenly bounced onto the pavement, across the front of a few houses and back onto the road.”
Bowden added that he followed the animal in his car briefly in order to ensure it wouldn’t be hit by any other motorists.
He said, “He bounced up the road a bit more and I moved up so he wouldn’t be hit. He then bounced up the road towards the level crossing and turned down alongside the river. He stopped for a bit before running off into the night.”
