A bus service was disrupted after anti-social behaviour broke out along a notorious road. The number 70/A could not serve Stephenson Avenue in Walsall, on Wednesday afternoon due to trouble.

The route was blocked in both directions. As a result of the closure, the service was forced to divert along Bloxwich Lane and Reedswood Way.

The stretch has long been the site of anti-social behaviour with the council looking at prevention measures over the years.

In July, West Midlands Police cordoned off a section of area of grassland, which is off Stephenson Avenue, following a shooting two miles away.

Back in 2020, Walsall Council planning committee members approved plans to demolish the old Beechdale Community Housing Association office on Stephenson Avenue to make way for 12 terraced properties in a hope to deter anti-social behaviour.
