According to recent research by Next, 25% of us start decking the halls in November. However, the onset of December remains the most favoured time to decorate the tree, with 41% of people opting for this period.

Those who begin in October argue that it enhances the anticipation leading up to the festivities, spreading joy throughout the closing months of the year. And let's face it, most Christmas adverts do start airing in the first week of November.

They also contend that the lights brighten up the home and help spread cheer during the long, cold, and dark winter months.

On the other hand, some staunchly believe that December is the perfect time to get the house ready for Christmas, while others leave it until the eleventh hour on Christmas Eve!
