A Manchester man wanted by the police could be in Leicester. Greater Manchester Police released an appeal, along with a photograph of the distinctive-looking 47-year-old criminal.

No mention is made of the crime he committed - just the fact he was released from prison and now, for undisclosed reasons, has been recalled to prison to continue serving his jail term.

Nearly all criminals only serve only part of the jail term they are given - usually half or two thirds, depending on the seriousness of the crime. And those jailed for life are also usually released on parole at some point. All prisoners released on licence can then be recalled if they commit other offences or fail to comply with the conditions of their release.
