The Wanted star Tom Parker welcomes baby weeks after revealing inoperable brain tumour

The Wanted's Tom Parker has become a father for the second time just weeks after revealing he has an inoperable brain tumour.

Parker, who spoke out about his cancer diagnosis earlier in October, also has a 15-month-old daughter with his wife, Kelsey Hardwick.

The 32-year-old singer is receiving treatment for a grade four glioblastoma - an aggressive cancer that can occur in the brain or spinal cord.

His bandmate Max George, who is taking part in the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing, announced the baby news in an interview on Tuesday morning.

Speaking to ITV's Lorraine, George said: "I spoke to him yesterday, he's doing good, he's doing great.

"Kelsey gave birth to their second child last week. He's a fighter, Tom. Tom will be all right.

"If he's watching by the way, I love you all."

The couple are yet to announce the news themselves, but have been congratulated on social media by fans and well-wishers, including the Brain Tumour Research charity.

Life expectancy for those diagnosed with a glioblastoma tumour is around 12 to 18 months, according to the charity.

Parker is having radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the hope of prolonging his life.

Writing on Instagram earlier in October, he said: "There's no easy way to say this but I've sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I'm already undergoing treatment.

"We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way.

"We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way. We don't want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options.

"It's gonna be a tough battle but with everyone's love and support we are going to beat this."

The Wanted formed in 2009, with Parker, George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuiness, and have had hits with songs including Chasing The Sun and Glad You Came.

George was among thousands posting messages of support when Parker announced news of his cancer, describing his bandmate as "a brother, a friend and a band mate" and praising his "incredible" bravery.
