Jeremy Clarkson's revival of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? has a confirmed air date.

ITV confirmed the news on Twitter, revealing that Who Wants to be a Millionaire? returns on Tuesday, January 1 at 9pm on ITV for a full series of 10 episodes.

The Grand Tour star Clarkson stepped in for Chris Tarrant for a week of specials on ITV in May, and got a pretty positive reaction from fans of the original game show and new viewers alike.

"I absolutely loved hosting the anniversary shows and cannot wait to spend a few precious hours away from James May and Richard Hammond, making the new ones," Clarkson said.

ITV initially commissioned Clarkson to front a week of new Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?specials in celebration of the show's 20th anniversary.

Not everyone was a fan though, with I'm a Celebrity star Iain Lee saying that he doesn't "buy the Clarkson myth".

"He's a good presenter but I don't buy everything he stands for," Iain complained on Good Morning Britain.

For the Clarkson revival, ITV is bringing back the new Ask the Host lifeline, along with classic favourites Ask The Audience, Phone a Friend and 50:50.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? will return to ITV on Tuesday, January 1 at 9pm.
