Warning at Devon beauty spot as parking spaces suspended
A popular beauty spot near Plymouth has lost a number of parking spaces after concerns were raised about erosion.
One visitor said they arrived at the National Trust run car park at Wembury to find a number of barriers in place this weekend - but knocked over due to fierce winds.
The car park - which used to be free to all but now requests a nominal fee of £6 for non-members between February 1 and October 31 and £3 from November 1 to January 31 - is located at the end of a lane running down to the beach which grants visitors a splendid view of the Great Mewstone.

Frequently cited as having some of the best rock pools in the country, masses of wildlife and takes in the South West Coast Path. The area is particularly popular with dog walkers although the beach is only dog-friendly between October 1 and April 30.
The visitor who spotted the barriers told PlymouthLive: "There's clearly been some rock fall recently. I don't know if its the waves hitting it or something else, but I guess there might be more to follow.
"The National Trust have clearly tried to block off the parking that's closest to the edge, but the awful weather at the weekend and the howling wind saw all the barriers blown over.
"There's a small sign up but there's no suggestion of what will happen next."

A spokesperson for the National Trust said: "Five car park spaces have been closed in the beach car park due to gradual erosion caused by water run-off.
"We are arranging for an engineer to look at the issue before deciding what to do next."
