Warwickshire drivers warned after Tesla driver loses control on ice

Drivers have been warned after a Tesla driver was lucky to have escaped without injury after 'losing control' on an icy road near Warwick. The incident reportedly happened near Budbrooke.

Temperatures have plummeted in recent days, dropping to as low as -4C. Roads remain icy this weekend, and people have been urged to take care on journeys in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Police responded to an incident earlier this week where a driver 'lost control' due to icy conditions near Budbrooke, Warwick. Thankfully, the person, who has not been identified, escaped without injury.

A spokesman for OPU Warwickshire said: “Temperatures have reached -4C overnight, and the roads are going to be icy this morning. Some minor rural roads may not be gritted.

“Please take extra care and drive safely in the conditions, or you could find yourself in a similar position to this Tesla driver. We attended this incident on Wednesday (January 8) morning after the driver left the road, losing control on the ice near Budbrooke, Warwick.

“Vehicle required specialist recovery from the team at GRS. Please stay safe out there this morning.”
