Warwickshire Police today, November 20, confirmed to our sister title that Mr Patel died while being held on remand in prison custody.

His death means that the police murder investigation has now come to an end. Throughout the investigation, police had not publicly named the woman.

All criminal proceedings in relation to the case now end. A coroner will take over the case.

A date for an inquest has yet to be set. At that inquest, the cause of the woman's death and how it came about will be determined by the coroner.
