WATCH: Adele Reveals Grammy Awards Sound Glitch Left Her In Tears During Her Appearance On The Ellen Show

Adele has revealed that she cried “all day” after experiencing sound issues during her highly anticipated performance at the Grammy Awards.

The 27-year old singer took to the stage to belt out her power ballad All I Ask but faced criticism with many viewers taking to their social media accounts to question her unusually “flat” vocals.

The Hello hitmaker later explained to fans what had gone wrong, tweeting: “The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that’s what the guitar sound was. It made it sound out of tune. S*** happens.”

She then added: “Because of it though… I’m treating myself to an In-n-Out [burger]. So maybe it was worth it.”

Despite her apparent care-free response immediately after the event, the singer has since revealed that she “cried pretty much all day” during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which is due to air on Thursday.

The global superstar also admitted that she had been more nervous than ever before as the pressure had reached new heights following the remarkable success of her latest album 25.

Adele told Ellen: “I don’t feel like it could go that much worse than the Grammy’s though. So I feel like I’m alright now. Anything that happens, dust it off!”

However, the singer displayed a change of heart when thinking about facing similar issues again.

“Next time I have any sound issues I am gonna stop. I’ll be like, sorry that’s not working for me. If we have time to do it again, let’s do it. Otherwise, bye!” Adele said.

Academy President Neil Portnow has since come forward and explained that they had switched to a back-up sound system during Adele’s song, causing the audio to drop for a few seconds.

Viewers, who had tuned in to watch her comeback performance, were not happy over the disruption but a number of fellow celebrities praised the star for remaining professional and powering through the performance.
