Watch Alvaro Morata's reluctant Chelsea initiation ceremony

Alvaro Morata's Chelsea debut in front of thousands in Singapore this week may have been a bit nervy for the new Blues striker, but perhaps not as much as his initiation ceremony if this video is anything to go by.

Morata was forced to undergo the traditional ceremony, in which players stand up in front of their new teammates and sing a song of their choice, on Wednesday as the Chelsea players enjoyed dinner at their hotel.

Morata appeared to be somewhat eager to get the initiation ceremony over with as soon as possible after he got up from his chair - despite an academy player being asked to go up and sing a song first.

After being told to sit tight for a little longer, Morata was eventually called to the front of the room where he stood on a chair and appeared hesitant to go through with the whole thing at all.

But after a few reluctant glances around the room, the 24-year-old took courage from the Chelsea team to sing a few words of a song in Spanish.

Morata - who completed a £58million move to Chelsea from Real Madrid last week - was handed his debut against Bayern Munich in Singapore on Tuesday.

The striker played on the left of a front three and, five minutes from time, won a corner which he then flicked into the path of Michy Batshuayi, who scored a consolation effort in the 3-2 loss for Conte's men.
