WATCH: Bindi Irwin WINS Dancing With The Stars After Paying Tribute To Her Late Father

There was not a dry eye in the house when Bindi Irwin took to the Dancing With The Stars ballroom and paid emotional tribute to her late father, Steve Irwin, on Monday night.

And now the seventeen-year-old beauty has been crowned winner of the dance show, with the star breaking down after performing her elegant finale dance routine, which was choreographed to Leona Lewis’ ‘Footprints In The Sand’.

At the end of the number, Bindi and her dance partner, Derek Hough, walked over digitally-projected sand, with the footprints of her father appearing behind them.

As they turned towards a screen, an image of a young Bindi cuddled up to her father appeared, which was a special surprise from Derek with Bindi having no idea that it was going to happen.

Needless to say, Bindi, the Dancing With The Stars judges, and Bindi’s mother and brother in the audience were all sobbing as the crowd gave their applause.

The dance duo were awarded with perfect scores from the judges and Bindi emotionally clung to her Derek as she thanked him for everything, with the couple being crowned the winners of this year’s contest last night.

Bindi’s father, Steve, was a wildlife expert known as ‘The Crocodile Hunter’, and he tragically lost his life in 2006 when he was filming a documentary entitled ‘Ocean’s Deadliest’.

When the weather was too bad to film in the ocean, Steve decided to film some shallow water shots for Bindi’s TV programme, ‘Bindi The Jungle Girl’, and approached a stingray from behind in order to film it swimming away.

Only one member of crew witnessed the attack, but they explained that the stingray reacted as though it was being attacked and striked Steve several hundred times, piercing his heart.

Aged 44, Steve was pronounced dead at the scene.
