After stepping up as one of the new captains on 8 Out of 10 Cats and winning over viewers of Celebs Go Dating with his brilliant narration, comedian Rob Beckett is now trying to conquer TV in another way with his new BBC sitcom.

In Static, Beckett stars as 20-something Rob who quits his London job to move back in with his parents, only to find they've sold the family home and moved to a static caravan park in Margate.

Digital Spy has an exclusive clip from the sitcom for you to enjoy right here.

As he adjusts to living on a sofa bed in his mum and dad's new caravan, it's not long before Rob is drawn into the world of the caravan park and all the characters in it, leaving him to question how much he really wants to get back on his feet and return to London.

Written by Beckett, Monkey Dust co-creator Shaun Pye, Tim Vine and John Archer, Static also stars Phil Davies and Gavin and Stacey's Alison Steadman as Rob's parents, as well as Samson Kayo, Natasia Demetriou and Craig Parkinson.

The one-off sitcom will air as part of BBC One's anthology series Comedy Playhouse on Friday (September 15) at 10.35pm

Alongside the sitcom, Beckett has also been announced as one of the hosts of new BBC One gameshow Wedding Day Winners, where he'll host alongside Lorraine Kelly as two engaged couples – accompanied by their friends and family – will go head to head to win prizes, a dream honeymoon, and a beautiful wedding ceremony which will be broadcast to viewers at home.

Wedding Day Winners will air in spring 2018.
