One of his biggest loves was gambling and so his father Eterna Luz funeral service owner Jose Mendelez to ask him to prepare his son’s body so he could sat at the poker table rather than inside a coffin for the funeral.

Jose revealed: “It’s the first time we ever did this here, but we take it as something normal because these kind of things have been done in other parts of our country.”

A local artist and friend, known only as ‘Kinki’, also filmed a music video in Henry’s memory called ‘Rest in peace, my little brother; in which they added images of the dead body sitting at the table.

The young man died aged just 31 as a result of alcohol consumption mixed with prescription drugs that local media hinted was an act of suicide.

Other recent embalming trends in Puerto Rico include a former driver who was seated in his taxi after death while a wrestler was embalmed and posted in a fighting ring.
