Former EastEnders star Ben Hardy has made his TV comeback as none other than King Arthur.

However, this is not quite the King Arthur you've heard about as it's all for Comedy Central's Drunk History, with comedian Russell Kane on narration duties after he's consumed a fair bit of alcohol.

So in Russell's version, Merlin is apparently trying to get King Arthur to fancy him, naturally.

Tonight's (March 22) episode also sees Aisling Bea playing the object of King Arthur's affection Guinevere, while Made in Chelsea's Stephanie Pratt pops up as the Lady of the Lake.

Only in Russell's version, the Lady of the Lake is "basically what we would call an LA pornstar".

Ben left EastEnders in February 2015 following the dramatic and award-winning 'Who Killed Lucy?' storyline, and quickly made his mark on Hollywood as Angel in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Of course, it doesn't mean he hasn't been fielding questions about whether Peter Beale would ever return to Walford.

"Never say never, but not in the imminent future," Ben explained in November.

There's definitely one thing that bugs him about his EastEnders exit though.

"It does irritate me that [Peter has] a baby," he explained. "It bugs me that the baby is left there, not being fathered."

Earlier this year, Ben landed the lead role in BBC One's adaptation of Wilkie Collins's psychological thriller The Woman in White.

Drunk History airs tonight (Wednesday, March 22) at 10pm on Comedy Central UK.
