WATCH: Grown man storms off after losing to children in Robot Wars
Robot Wars’ viewers were left stunned on last night’s show when a grown man threw a tantrum and stormed off when his team lost to a group of schoolchildren.
Unsurprisingly, the man in question has been blasted on social media for his “petulant” and “bratty” behaviour.
Team Behemoth, headed by Ant, were made up of four adults and went head to head with Team Cherub, a group of three children and their guardian.
Host Angela Scanlon announced that Team Behemoth lost and team captain Ant immediately stormed off camera, being heard muttering “whatever” under his breath as he made his exit.
Before leaving, Ant passes the robot controller to a teammate but does not acknowledge the schoolchildren’s win, let alone congratulate them.
Needless to say, Twitter went into meltdown:
It all kicking off on #RobotWars. Man walks out of post-match interview in disgust after his team were beaten by kids.

the guy from behemoth is a massive child who couldn't even congratulate a bunch of kids on their deserved win, nice! @RobotWarsUK #robotwars

The reaction from the Behemoth team member was awful, whether or not your upset walking off because you lost is pathetic. #RobotWars

#Behemoth captain acting less mature than the kids that beat him. Brilliant TV of post interview stormout. #RobotWars

The battle between the two robots got off to a rocky start when it had to be reset due to the children’s one becoming stuck.
It later came to a close with no clear winner, leaving the judge’s to decide which one should go through to the final.
Announcing the news, Angela told the two teams: “The decision was unanimous and the fight and the two points are going to go to Cherub and you’re through to the final.”
The children were obviously ecstatic and started to jump around excitedly as Ant walked off, with his teammates later claiming that he was “stressed” by the situation.
Robot Wars have since defended Ant, tweeting: “Everyone’s been talking about the #Behemoth walkout, but remember he was upset with his own team and not the opposition.
“Teams like Behemoth work incredibly hard to create their brilliant robots, and we love them for it.”
