Charlie Clapham said goodbye to Hollyoaks tonight (April 21) as he bowed out after four years on the soap, and while fans were emotional at his exit, Charlie's final scenes as Freddie Roscoe also left him in tears.
In an emotional farewell video filmed on his very last day, the actor thanked fans for supporting the Roscoe family.
Just before shooting his last scene, he said: "I am, you know I have mixed emotions. I'm very excited, a little bit upset, looking around with a little bit of nostalgia."
The character's exit comes as Freddie made a devastating mistake as he nearly killed Nick Savage with one punch, sending him flying into the village's hot tub and almost drowning him.
After his last ever scene was done and dusted, Charlie was very teary and carrying a beautiful bouquet of flowers after saying goodbye to his castmates.
He said: "I'm crying and it's my last day and I've just said goodbye to everyone. It's like the worst breakup with a girlfriend I've ever had and I've had a few of them."
He added: "Thank you to all the fans who have watched the show and supported me and the Roscoes and voted for everything we've been on over the last four years.
"You've been amazing and the show wouldn't exist without you, so thank you."
During his four years on the soap, Freddie has been part of some huge storylines, including his feuds with the village's dangerous gangsters and his explosive relationships with Sinead and Lindsey – the latter almost finishing him off.
