This huge success kept on coming for Hollyoaks when the soap beat out its fellow Big Four to win the Best Soap Award for the very first time ever!

Hollyoaks has been hugely praised over the past 12 months for tackling important subjects such as mental health, sexual abuse, religious and cultural tolerance, teenage pregnancy and the illness sepsis.

The Best Actor Award also went to a Hollyoaks cast member, with Adam Woodward picking up the prize for his portrayal of Brody Hudson.

Of course, it was a huge night for the other soaps and continuing dramas as well. Screen icon Maureen Lipman walked away from the Inside Soap Awards for her debut year as Evelyn Plummer in Corrie.

"52 years waiting to be a newcomer," she joked.
