Watch killer's arrest just minutes after murdering his friend

This video shows the moment police arrested a man just minutes after he murdered 32-year-old Martin Hefferman. Lee Llewellyn attacked and killed Mr Hefferman before saying to police "I hope [he] survives, I don't want no murder charge".

Llewellyn and Mr Hefferman were at a property on Honeysuckle Close, in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, with two women for two days before the fatal incident on Saturday, November 18, 2023. A quantity of alcohol and drugs had been consumed during the time they were together at the property and it is unclear what led to the fatal row.

When police enter the house soon after the fatal wounds were inflicted, Llewellyn is heard to say "I stabbed the guy. He was attacking me, broke my ribs."

The women told police they heard Llewellyn and Mr Hefferman argue before they found Mr Hefferman bleeding and critically injured on the landing. Neither woman saw the stabbing. One of the women called police at approximately 3.20am and the first officers arrived approximately 10 minutes later.

When officers arrived at the property, they immediately arrested Llewellyn. As they escorted him from the house to a police car, he told officers he "stabbed the guy" before saying he "hopes he survives".

The shocking bodycam footage shows Llewellyn admit to attacking Mr Hefferman with a knife. He told officers he didn't want "no murder charge".

Once officers put Llewellyn in the police car, he told them: "F***, why did I stab him? I'm not even joking".

Despite denying one count of murder and claiming that Martin had accidentally impaled himself on the knife, Llewellyn was convicted by jurors after a nine-day trial at Bristol Crown Court. Llewellyn, of Froomshaw Road, in Bristol, awaits sentencing on Friday, May 24.
