Cape Town – Kim Kardashian has officially met Alice Marie Johnson – the woman she fought clemency for.
President Donald Trump commuted Alice’s sentence – who was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole in 1996 for a first-time, nonviolent drug offense and money laundering – on 6 June.
The clemency came after Kim hired a team of attorneys to investigate Alice’s case after coming across it on Twitter. The reality TV star later met with POTUS to discuss a possible pardon.
In a special interview with Today Show’s Hoda Kotb, Kim and Alice meet for the first time and talk about the life-changing moment the 63-year-old found out she was going home.

Speaking about the phone call Kim made to tell her she can go home, Alice says: “I went into full fledge Pentecostal holy dance. I started screaming and jumping, people were listening. I’m telling you, I was dancing, I was dancing, I was jumping, I was screaming, I was doing everything.”
Before telling her the happy news, Kim says she first thought Alice knew but could then tell she didn’t from her calm silence.
