Happy Thanksgiving! For many families, Thanksgiving morning means one thing and one thing only: Watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This year is the 98th edition of the parade; the first-ever Macy's Parade took place in 1924, and it has been televised since 1953.
The event will air on NBC and Peacock today, Thursday November 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in all time zones. There will also be an encore presentation of the parade airing on NBC at 2 p.m. eastern and pacific. The parade will also be simulcast on Telemundo, hosted by Carlos Adyan and Andrea Meza.
Performers this year include Jennifer Hudson, Kylie Minogue, Billy Porter, Loud Luxury, T-Pain, Idina Menzel, and more, and Broadway shows Death Becomes Her, Hell’s Kitchen, and The Outsiders will perform. There will be six new balloons in the parade, including Minnie Mouse, Marshall from PAW Patrol, and Spider-Man. (See the full lineup here.)
Like in the previous years, the parade will once again be hosted by Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker. As Kotb is set to leave the Today show in the new year, this year's parade will likely be her last.
“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is second to none when it comes to world-class entertainment during the holiday season,” Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Media Group, said in a statement. “It’s truly an honor to bring such an iconic event to our viewers year after year and partake in one of the country’s most beloved traditions.”
