Isn't Mark Hamill just the coolest guy ever? Don't even answer that, because he is.

The Luke Skywalker actor popped down to surprise some fans who thought they were just shooting a Star Wars 40th anniversary promo video, and it made our little nerd hearts light up more than the Death Star after a successful Rebel trench run.

Hamill re-enacts some of his classic Luke scenes (although not in the way the fans were expecting) and, in a totally meta move, dons the iconic Darth Vader mask to turn the tables on cinema's biggest plot twist.

The video isn't just a good bit of fun, but to promote a good cause. The Star Wars Force for Change charity gives fans the chance to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences if they get involved.

There is already the chance to get a VIP tour of the Skywalker Ranch archives, attend the premiere of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi and be IN the upcoming Han Solo movie, but, as Hamill announces, a bonus experience has been added.

One incredibly lucky fan will get to see The Last Jedi before the premiere AND have lunch with Hamill in Los Angeles, where you'll get to grill him on everything from nerves about returning for the new trilogy, the 'Special Edition' changes, if Luke will die, that time he snogged Leia, whether he ever made it to the Tosche station to pick up some power converters...

Star Wars - Episode VIII: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas on December 15 – watch the first trailer below:
