Watch as smoke billows from car fire in Cambridgeshire village


Firefighters were called to a car fire on Cambridge Road in Impington, just north of Cambridge, on Sunday (September 22). The flames and billowing smoke were caught on camera by a CambridgeshireLive reader.

A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "At 5.05pm on Sunday, a crew from Cambridge was called to a fire on Cambridge Road in Impington. Firefighters arrived to find a car well alight.

"Wearing breathing apparatus, they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 6.10pm. The cause of the fire was accidental."

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "We were notified a car was on fire at about 5.30pm on Sunday on Cambridge Road, Impington. No crimes have been raised."
