Watch: Tiger Becomes Friends With Goat He Was Supposed To EAT

An unlikely friendship has developed between a tiger and a goat that was served up to him for his lunchtime meal.

Amur the tiger, housed at the Primorsky Safari Park in Russia, did not seem to be interested in devouring Timur the goat when it was introduced to its enclosure.

Instead, the pair seemed to buddy up, with Timur following around his fearsome new friend everywhere he went.

In fact, Timur seemed to be the one in charge, chasing Amur out of his usual sleeping spot while the goat slept on the tiger’s bed.

The goat was named after a character from a Russian children’s book - and is living up to its name.

The safari park said in a statement: “It’s a fitting name for such a fearless animal.”

Zookeepers added on the park’s website: “Nobody taught the goat to be afraid of the tiger. So, Amur decided not to mess with the fearless goat, and didn’t eat it.”

They added that Amur does not view Timur as prey.

Hopefully for Timur that opinion will last!
