An intense new trailer for Tupac biopic All Eyez On Me has dropped, giving us a fresh taste of what to expect.
The clip highlights the iconic rapper, played by Demetrius Shipp Jr, and his early life and ideals, as well as his rise to the top.
"You must stand for something. You must live for something, and you must be willing to die for something," declares Tupac's stepfather, played by Jamie Hector.
We also see glimpses of Notorious B.I.G. (Jamal Woolard), Death Row Records' Suge Knight (Dominic L. Santana) and The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham as Tupac's friend Jada Pinkett as the trailer shines a light on Tupac's aims in life.
"I'm reporting from the streets, I'm educating and keeping it real," the late rapper declares at one point.
Also glimpsed briefly is none other than The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira – famous for playing Michonne on the show – who here takes on the role of Tupac's mother Afeni.
In the clip, she warns him against a downward spiral, saying that he will be given "the tools you need to destroy yourself".
Her Walking Dead cast mate Lauren Cohan is also part of the upcoming biopic, here portraying mentor Leila Steinberg.
The movie will follow Tupac's rise as well as his involvement in the East-West rap war, up until his death in a Las Vegas shooting on 1996.
All Eyez On Me, which is directed by Benny Boom, is set to premiere on June 16, on what would have been Tupac's 46th birthday.
