The family of a teenage girl left in a wheelchair after taking MDMA have warned of the dangers of the party drug in a heatbreaking video.

Amy Thomson, 16, collapsed after taking a capsule of crystal MDMA at a house party in June.

She was also left fighting for her life in a coma at hospital as her family prayed for her recovery.

But they have now released a heartbreaking video to show how her life has dramatically transformed since the incident.

The teenager can be seen in a wheelchair, and struggles to speak as she thanks people for their support during her recovery.

Amy, from Glasgow, says: “Thank you everyone. Thanks for your support everyone.”

The video was posted on the Facebook page Support for Amy, which has over 4,000 likes.

Responding to people’s reactions to the video, a post on the page by her cousin Kayla said: “Some people may have cried, laughed or been shocked seeing the video.

‘But this is what a tiny pill can do to you. Amy won’t be like this for the rest of her life, she’s getting the best care and support.

If this isn’t an eye opener for everyone who continues to take stuff, I dunno what is’
