This comes after the streaming platform confirmed the news at the Edinburgh TV Festival as reports of their multimillion-pound deal emerge.
Disney+ has won the exclusive rights to work with Rooney, 36, and given the documentary a working title of Wagatha Christie.
When is the Wagatha Christie documentary?
There is no set release date yet for the show on Disney+.
However, production company Dorothy St Pictures have been filming with Rooney over the last two years alongside Lorton Entertainment to map the journey of her legal battle after Rebekah Vardy brought on the libel case that Rooney ultimately won.
Lorton had previously worked on the successful Wayne Rooney documentary with Amazon and now signed a £1 million deal with Disney+.

The series will be available to stream on Disney+. This means that if you have the £7.99 monthly subscription or an annual one, you can view the programme via TV, laptop or computer, or on a mobile or tablet.
The streaming platform giant gave a statement with their announcement, saying: “The three-part series will take viewers from the circumstances that led to her [Rooney’s] infamous Instagram post that ‘broke the Internet’ all the way to Coleen being a successful defendant in one of the UK’s highest-profile High Court defamation cases brought against her by Rebekah Vardy.
“In a story for our times, Wagatha Christie will reveal how fiercely determined and resilient Coleen had to be in order to protect her family from the challenges presented by the traditional and social media landscapes.”
Viewers will also see Rooney in the spotlight for two decades and how she began dating footballer Wayne Rooney when they were teenagers.
