Water Cascades Down Steps in Chicago's Soldier Field Amid Heavy Rainfall

Water poured down a set of stairs at Chicago’s Soldier Field stadium on Sunday, September 11, after heavy rainfall created slippery conditions for the National Football League season opener between the Bears and 49ers.

Video by @jeffgeoo shows scenes from the stadium late Sunday afternoon.

Victory went to the home team, and the Bears celebrated with an end zone splashdown led by quarterback Justin Fields after winning 19-10.

Scattered showers in the area would continue on Monday, the National Weather Service said. Credit: @jeffgeoo via Storyful
