Water Pours Into Delhi Airport Terminal as Storm Sweeps City

Water fell from the ceiling and flooded sections of a terminal at in Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport as thunderstorms moved through the area on October 3.

The heavy rain also snarled traffic and halted flights at the airport in Delhi for about 30 minutes. Multiple flights were diverted during the downpour, reports said.

This video shows rain leaking into the airport as employees attempt to clean up the pooling water.

On Twitter, the airport responded to passengers, saying: “Due to sudden downpour of high intensity and fierce wind, water entered terminal 1. Our team was immediately aligned to look into it and the issue has been resolved.” Credit: @s.mahaveer_ via Storyful
