Water rescue firefighters from Derbyshire in North Staffordshire - here's why
Firefighters and a water rescue unit from Derbyshire were spotted in North Staffordshire yesterday - but the reason wasn't cause for concern. A fire engine and the specialist water team were seen passing through Leek on Wednesday afternoon.
Now Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service says it was undertaking training. Crews from Buxton had taken part in a joint exercise with their colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire crews held the session at Stanley Pool. The beauty spot was dammed in 1786 to form a reservoir.

Today it's overseen by the Canal and River Trust and plays host to North Staffs Sailing Club.
