Waterloo Road airs four cast returns in dramatic finale
Waterloo Road spoilers follow.
There were surprising returns for four characters on Waterloo Road, with the dramatic finale seeing Steve and Billy Savage face the music.
The eighth episode of the 14th series saw Schuey spend time in custody after being mistakenly arrested for the death of Boz Osbourne, which was accidentally caused by Billy.
Headteacher Steve had concealed his son’s crime by moving the body into the canal and planting evidence in Schuey’s locker, with the latter calling a familiar face - former headteacher Kim Campbell - to help him in his plight.

After hearing out Schuey’s side of the story, in which he passionately maintains his innocence, Kim heads back to her former school in a bid to gain answers. At the same time, Billy’s mental state worsened after he saw visions of Boz.
Kim’s suspicions became aroused after Steve reacted angrily to her line of questioning regarding Boz’s death, with the former headteacher explaining to Joe that something wasn’t adding up.
Billy’s emotions got the better of him during Boz’s memorial, with the student running to the school roof as he prepared to deliver a speech. Steve rushed to the roof to help his son after receiving a call from Donte, who subsequently learned of the truth regarding Boz’s death.
Donte chastised Steve for his involvement in covering up Boz’s passing, with the latter explaining that he acted in the interests of his son. Donte informs Kim and the other teachers of the truth, with a manhunt ensuing on the school grounds.

Kim eventually spotted the pair fleeing across the field, with the former headteacher pleading with Steve to accept his fate. The pair were eventually arrested by the police, with students and teachers looking on in shock.
A weary and exhausted Kim was greeted by partner Andrew Treneman as she left the school once more, before a tearful Steve was separated from his son as he faced a lonely night behind bars.
Elsewhere in the episode, there were also returns for Samia Choudhry and Kai Sharif, who both showed up to surprise Preston Walters on his 18th birthday. Kai and Preston shared a kiss upon their reunion, whilst Samia called in on Kelly Jo.
