Waves Crash Against Rocks in Bodega Bay

Heavy waves crashed against rock formations off the California coast at Bodega Bay after the National Weather Service issued a high-surf warning on Monday, December 17, urging residents to stay away from the water.

A series of storms in the Pacific Northwest triggered dangerously large swells, according to forecasters. Waves were expected to hammer the coastline from Washington state south to central California, causing the National Weather Service to issue an ominous warning. “STAY WELL BACK FROM THE OCEAN OR RISK CERTAIN DEATH,” read a tweet.
