Waves Crash Over People Near Seawall During Ophelia Storm Surge

Large waves impacted North Wildwood, New Jersey, on Saturday, September 23, as Tropical Storm Ophelia swept along the US East Coast.

Footage by PJ Hondros shows the powerful waves crashing over some young people standing near a seawall.

Hondros told Storyful that the streets were busy as people celebrated the annual Irish Fall Festival despite the weather.

By Saturday night, the storm weakened to a post-tropical depression but the National Weather Service warned that flooding was still possible on Sunday. Credit: PJ Hondros via Storyful
