Wayne Rooney 'disappointed' after brother Graham is filmed with his arm around Tommy Robinson
The footage shows 31-year-old Graham in a white t-shirt with his arm over Mr Robinson, who shouts “go on Rooney” for the camera.
Mr Robinson, who is running to be an MEP, is seen smiling for the camera throughout while he speaks to Graham.
Graham looks into the camera but is silent throughout the clip.
Following the footage emerging, a source told The Sun that Wayne was “angry and disappointed”.
They said: “Wayne has no truck with Tommy Robinson or his politics. All he can hope is that his brother wasn’t fully aware of who he was with and what he was doing.”
While another friend said the 33-year-old former England star would be “furious”.
They told The Sun: “Wayne has spent the last 17 years sharing dressing rooms with players from every creed, colour and race.
“He will be furious about what Graham has done. He has brought shame on the family name.”
The clip from Liverpool emerged after Mr Robinson visited Merseyside to promote his campaign.
His trail throughout the country has seen multiple clashes with counter protesters, while he was also hit by a milkshake as he canvassed for votes.
It was also reported a brick was thrown at his bus in Preston.
