Wayne Rooney made his mark on the footballing world long before he joined D.C. United last season.
But on Wednesday, it only took Rooney 10 minutes to remind everyone why he was considered one of the best in the world.
Rooney picked up the ball after an accidental touch by an Orlando City player. Yet before he even got to the halfway line, Rooney took his shot — launching the ball aerially and catching everyone, including Orlando goalie Brian Rowe, off guard.
Naturally, Rooney’s aim was dead on.

Rooney’s incredible goal put D.C. United up 1-0, and ended up sealing the win for them right there.
The 33-year-old already has nine goals this season, the fourth most in the MLS. The others, though, won’t be able to compete with what he did at the Audi Field.
