Wayne Rooney's admission when asked if he'd join I'm A Celeb
Wayne Rooney has spoken out after his wife Coleen joined the the I'm A Celebrity jungle and has revealed he wouldn't mind heading down under himself. The 38-year-old joined the jungle earlier this month and has been thrilling fans in recent episodes and even recently showed her detective prowess this week.
But after seeing the mum-of-four's exploits on the show, the former Everton striker has revealed he wouldn't mind giving the show a go himself. Speaking last night on I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked, he responded: "Maybe, if I'm not working, I would like to do it. But at the minute, obviously, that's not possible."
He also told the show how he is missing his wife and mother of his children. “I think it's the longest, you know, I've been without speaking to her since we were kids,” the 39-year-old said.

“And for the children, obviously it's difficult not being able to speak to the mum. But Coleen’s parents are helping out obviously, while I’m over in Plymouth living there at the minute with my work. There's a good team looking after the kids and making sure everything is done. And so, we're missing her, but we're enjoying watching as well.”
The Croxteth-born dad-of-four also admitted to voting for Coleen to do the trials. He said: "Yes I would love for her to do a trial. It’s all part of the experience, and I think she'd be great as well.” He also said he would have a poem waiting for her when she comes out. “I've always liked doing and writing poems and expressing my feelings in a different way as well. And yeah, so there'll be one waiting for her for sure..”
Asked if he was pleased people were seeing the real Coleen, he said: “She's a nice person, a warm person and a very caring person. And I think that's coming across, you know, I think she's probably in the middle of the older ones and the young ones, so she's probably bridging that gap a little bit.
"But I think she's absolutely shown her personality, character, and I think that's coming across strong. So, it's great to see it in there and see her settling in as well over the last few days.”
